Flying to St. Barths from St. Maarten: Why Charter Flights Are Worth It

The latest data from the WINGX Global Market Tracker – Caribbean Issue (Week 31, 2025) confirms what many industry insiders already sensed: the Caribbean’s business aviation market is not just rebounding—it’s thriving. According to the report, total flight activity in the region reached 329,903 movements between January and July 2025, marking a 3.4% year-over-year growth, with business aviation leading the charge at 133,534 flights—a 3.6% increase over the same period last year.
This upward trend reinforces the strategic positioning of ReyJets.com, the premium private jet service based in St. Maarten, and its sister service AirSXM.com, which specializes in shared charters and bespoke air travel experiences to nearby islands such as St. Barths, Anguilla, and Antigua.
🚀 Regional Growth Aligns with ReyJets Strategy
The report highlights that business aviation now connects over 9,400 unique airport pairs—a testament to the flexibility and reach of private charter operators. In contrast, scheduled commercial flights operated on just 2,065 unique routes, underscoring the comparative advantage private aviation holds in delivering bespoke connectivity throughout the region.
“Our focus has always been to unlock hard-to-reach destinations and offer seamless travel experiences,” said Terrance Rey, CEO of ReyJets and AirSXM. “This report validates our strategy and confirms that we are on the right flight path.”
📈 St. Barths Market Booming
One of the most promising data points from the WINGX report is the staggering 38% growth in traffic at Saint Barth’s Remy De Haenen Airport (TFFJ), which recorded 6,276 business aviation flights in the first seven months of 2025. With AirSXM.com recognized as a pioneer in shared charters to St. Barths, this spike directly benefits the company’s operations and market share.
“As the only virtual airline offering guaranteed seat availability and real-time charter solutions to St. Barths, AirSXM is uniquely equipped to capture this surge in demand,” Rey noted.
✈️ Midsize Jets and Turboprops Lead the Way
According to WINGX, Super Midsize Jets grew by 9%, and Turboprops saw 84,460 movements, demonstrating their suitability for shorter island-hopping missions and smaller runways. ReyJets’ upcoming introduction of the Cessna Citation VII—a super midsize jet—is perfectly aligned with this trend. Meanwhile, turboprop charter demand continues to fuel AirSXM’s shared flight offerings.
“This is confirmation that the Caribbean jet market is evolving—clients are seeking more comfort, range, and efficiency, and we are delivering just that,” said Rey.
🗺️ Strong US-Caribbean Demand
The Bahamas–USA corridor remained the busiest route in the region, accounting for 26,357 flights and nearly 20% of all Caribbean business aviation. Similar trends are seen in the Anguilla–USA market, which grew by 18%, and the British Virgin Islands–Puerto Rico route, up a massive 33%.
With growing interest from high-net-worth individuals and business travelers based in New York, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles, ReyJets.com is poised to become the go-to operator for US-based clients seeking exclusive Caribbean travel solutions.
🛫 The Future Looks Bright
The Caribbean’s business aviation sector is clearly entering a golden era—and ReyJets.com and AirSXM.com are set to soar even higher.
“Our brands are built on precision, personalization, and performance,” Rey concluded. “The data is clear: the Caribbean skies are getting busier, and we’re leading the way.”
